I woke up late and was suspose to be at Maggie´s for lunch at 12:00 pm, but had to pick up Judith first which made Judith and I late. I also need to comment that my car was on empty and before we could venture to maggie´s we first had to find a petrol station! That went well and we were soon on our way.
Judith is generally better at following directions than I am. So usually we get where we are going. However, today Judith directed me to the wrong subdivision, which turned out to only be a few kelometers away from our final destination, Maggie´s new house.
When we finally gave up and admitted we were not going to find her house on our own, Maggie sent out a rescue team. They found us and we followed them to her home.
Lunch was scrumptious!! Coconut shrimp, rice noodles, and mango & chicken salad. For desert she served a chocolate moose and an Indian ice cream that was made with pistachios nuts that was to die for. She followed up with tea, coffee, and some lovely cookies Annette made. we chatted the afternoon away.
Maggie makes the cutes rag dolls you have ever seen. Dolls with an attitude. She made this one for me. Isn´t she lovely!

Judith and I left around 4 pm headed to Ibn Battuta Mall, needless to say we got hopelessly lost again! There is so much road construction here that daily they are moving things around. I did not see and exit where I know it was last week so we ended up miles from where we should have been. It took us over an hour to finally arrive at the Mall but we made it, bought what we went for, had and expresso and headed home.
Judith is the best friend anyone could ever hope for. She should be a stand up comedian, she always makes me laugh. On our drive home we decided when we get old and hopefully still living in Dubai we must have a driver to drag us around. I said a great looking guy we can look at. Judith reminded me that we will be so blind by then we won´t be able to see him. So we decided who cares at that age as long as it´s a young man, Judith said, by then we won´t care even if she is a girl as long as she had a deep vice!
After dropping Judith I had a 7:30 pm dental appointment. I was only at the dentist for a few minutes for an adjustment on my temporary crown, then headed home myself.
The boys were waiting. Paddy had to get outside to his new pet a 4-6 month old female kitten who has taken up residency in our yard at night. She cries continuously because she is obviously in heat, but since Paddy´s fixed he does not seem to understand what is going on with her. It is the funniest behavior I have ever seen.
Kelifa is inside he hates the kitten. When I come back in the house I find him chewing on my new doll! He´s taken her out of my purse where she was and was attempting to destroy as much of her as he can before I take it away from him!! He truly is the cat from hell!
Bed time, Erik comes home in the morning. He has been up in Europe for 3 days. It will be good to have him back at home.
It was a nice day.
Welcome to Dubai,
Inshallah till tomorrow

The last few weeks have just flown by. It seems like everyday I am out of the house doing
something for Erik and I or for some one else who is visiting. Today is the first day home that I can remember in weeks that I only left the house for an hour or so. Let me try and catch you up.

Today was lovely. Sunny, warm and a wonderful Dubai day. When I came downstairs for breakfast I let the boys (Paddy & Kelifa), out for their morning walk. At least, I let Paddy out. Kelifa had to wait for me to put on his bell collar. (a collar with 2 small bells to let me hear if he leaves the yard). Within a few minutes Paddy returned to the kitchen with a small dove he had caught in the yard. He drops what appears to be a dead bird at my feet. I wish I could say this has never happened before but that would be a lie. every since he was a kitten he brings me something he has hunted for me. Anyway, before I could throw what I thought was a dead bird back in the yard for him to eat, Kelifa grabbed it and took off into the house. Paddy and I both running after him. paddy not at all happy. I tackled Kelifa , open his mouth and retrieve the bird, I still intend to throw it back out side. When I return to the kitchen bird in hand, followed by 2 angry cats both thinking they would get the bird as soon as I threw it out in the yard. An amazing thing happened, as I threw the bird in the air it flew away! What a lovely site. Most likely it was playing dead from the time Paddy caught it. I however will swear, I truly believed it was dead. Oh well! It made my day, the boys are still looking for him.
Last week we had a house guest from Norway. Erik and I spent a lot of the week entertaining him. We took him to Dragon Mart to buy Pearls, Dubai Mall for lunch, Mall of the Emerites for light shopping and dinners. He and Erik worked durning the day and in the evenings we showed him Dubai.
I also have my weekly luncheons with the girls. Each week we choose a different area of Dubai we are not yet familiar with, scott it out and then have lunch somewhere in the area. This last week we were back Bur Dubai. This is the area where the textile souk is located. We have a divine taylor we found there in one of the numerous fabric shops.  After our fittings we went to the old city and had lunch at a KFC. Walked around in the area until after 5pm then headed home.

All and all a really lovely week!
